Darwen Aldridge Community Academy (DACA)
Mercol has successfully completed the supply of £450,000 of fitted and loose educational furniture to the Darwen Academy. The Academy is a 1600 pupil school with sixth form. The furniture includes general classrooms, laboratories and food technology rooms The installation was conducted over 7 months.

Mercol has successfully won business with Bovis Lend Lease which will lead to the supply of £350,000 of furniture to schools in East Lancashire, including Marsden Heights Community College, Hameldon Community College, Unity College and The Rose School in Burnley and the Accrington Academy.

Swindon Academy
Mercol has successfully completed the supply of £850,000 of fitted and loose
educational furniture to the Swindon Academy through its Vari-tech arm. Swindon Academy is a 1600 pupil school with sixth form and primary school on the same site.
The furniture includes general classrooms, laboratories and food technology rooms.
The installation was conducted over 8 months.

BSEC – October 2009
BSEC is the largest conference and exhibition in the UK concerned with the design and construction of schools.
Over 5,000 local authority officers, contractors, architects, head teachers, school governors and ICT professionals attended the last event. Speakers at the conference included schools minister Jim Knight, Partnerships for Schools chief executive Tim Byles, and RIBA president Sunand Prasad.
In addition to the main event, this year saw the launch of BSEC North in October 2009 in which vari-tech proudly displayed its previous & on going involvements in supplying both loose & fitted furniture to the education sector.
